Swaziland has been celebrating 40 years of independence and the King's 40th birthday. A number of African leaders turned up to join in the festivities, notably Zimbabwe's controversial president Robert Mugabe. But with the cost of the joint celebrations estimated at some 20 million euros, many Swazis say the money could have been better spent in a country where 600,000 people live below the poverty line and over 40 percent either have HIV or AIDS.
