The World bank crisis continues as its president, Paul Wolfowitz, fights to keep his job after a panel report found he broke rules when he approved a pay and promotions deal for his girlfriend a World Bank employee. Stefanie McIntyre reports.

World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz remains defiant as the 24 nation Bank board meets to decide whether he will keep his job. Wolfowitz promised he would change his management style to regain the trust of staff who have voiced concern that the leadership crisis had compromised the bank's credibility and its effectiveness in fighting global poverty. Bank employees and trade union members demonstrate in Frankfurt, Germany's financial centre, against Commerzbank's $14.5 billion takeover of Dresdner Bank which will lead to thousands of job cuts. The takeover will slash 9000 jobs, 6500 of which will be in Germany, mostly at investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort.
