Buddy Bolden was a prominent New Orleans band leader circa 1900. He played cornet and was influential in the early development of improvisational jazz. Stefan Berg has produced a wordless graphic novel depicting the final parade in which Buddy Bolden performed, in 1906. The book is centered on how Buddy burst a blood vessel during the parade; shortly after, he was institutionalized for the remainder of his life. Stefan launched his book on December 4, 2007, at David Mirvish Books in Toronto.
