On lap 135, the 3rd caution of the day is brought out when Dale Jarrett got turned around by his teammate Kenny Irwin which causes the big one as several cars become involved which sends Jarrett's car flipping. Other drivers involoved include Steve Park, Rich Bickle, Elliott Sadler, Geoff Bodine, Jeff Burton, Terry Labonte, Mark Martin, Sterling Marlin, Joe Nemechek, Ricky Rudd, and Ward Burton. All off the drivers were OK.Mike Joy Buddy Baker and Ned Jarrett are there for CBS.

With 69 laps remaining, Terry Labonte is finally able to work his way under the Ford of Dale Jarrett and take the lead for the first time that night. He would hold that position for the duration of the race, despite Earnhardt's last ditch attempt to spin him out of the way.

With 3 laps to go, Shane Hmiel gets in the back of Dale Jarrett and crashes hard then gets hit again by Michel Jourdain. Under the red flag, Dale walks to Shane's car and talks to him. After they were finished, Hmiel flips off Jarrett. There's also interviews with Jarrett and Hmiel. Mike Joy Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hammond with the call.

During the 2005 Food City 250, Shane Hmiel wrecked Dale Jarrett in the closing laps. During the ensuing red flag, Jarrett went to talk to Hmiel, who flipped him off

On lap 26, Juan Pablo Montoya gets into Tony Stewart then clips Kyle Busch into his teammate Casey Mears and sends Busch in the wall and gets upside down. The right front tire from Busch's car hits Jamie McMurray in the front end of his car. Busch gets in the grass and takes a huge flip 7 times before the car lands up right. Kyle climbed out the car unhurt.Jerry Punch, Dale Jarrett, and Andy Petree with the call.

Dale Jarrett gets into Jeff Green spins through the grass then goes back up the racetrack. Joe Nemecheck and J.J. Yeley were also collected in the crash.
