On lap 235, contact between the #29 of Steve Grissom and the #98 of Jeremy Mayfield causes both cars to spin coming off turn 2 and collects a bevy of other oncoming drivers, effectively blocking the track. Dick Trickle, Jimmy Spencer, Hut Stricklin and Bobby Hamilton are among those taken out of contention by damage sustained in this incident.

Watch for John Andretti to smack the wall exiting turn 2 hard enough to launch the right side of his car in the air at about 00:27, for the millisecond the incident was caught on ESPN's cameras.
